The Festival opens with a procession through the town on the first Saturday. Everyone is welcome to join in and there are workshops for the procession held in the town.
Herne Bay has an increasing reputation on the local music scene and the Festival has a thriving live music programme. Herne Bay Rocks is a great showcase for local talent, over five nights five pubs host a free gig, with three local bands performing for their chance to win a place on the main stage at Rock around the Clock, a programme of free live music at the Clocktower Plaza each Festival Saturday that attracts thousands to the seafront stage.
Seaside Frolics is a programme of events and activities held on the beach, pier and prom that celebrate traditional seaside fun and the Great British Seaside! It includes festival favourites the Sandcastle Competition, Monster Crab Catching, Pebble Pictures and of course, Punch and Judy.
